Mission, Vision and Values

In the mid-2000s, founder and CEO of Leading With Nice Mathieu Yuill, was an active freelance journalist. Often assigned profile pieces it was the creative director at a magazine that asked Mathieu “Why do you describe some of the people you profile as ‘nice leaders?’”

Mathieu’s curiosity led him to discover these Nice Leaders had six traits in common: they showed a lot of gratitude, were empathetic, trusting of their staff, honest, generous with their time and money and service driven.

This led to Mathieu researching these traits to see if they positively impacted the bottom line. He found there were mountains of scientific and academic research showing that indeed it did. Mathieu started a website about this research, wrote a book and completed a Masters in Leadership and Management where he examined communications as a leadership skill.

When he launched his communications and marketing company it was only fitting he call it Leading With Nice. He hires staff and the company works with other businesses and nonprofits who align with the following:

To ask the right questions to help companies and nonprofits tell their story so everyone gets it.

We believe everyone should have clarity.

We want Better for you: Your success is our success.

We value Clarity: We bring an honest and transparent approach to our work.

We are Nice people: Our relationship will move your organization forward.

"Our team and organization both won"

Mathieu brings what every seasoned communications professional needs – a fresh perspective. His ability understand your message, and the right amount of “salt” to get you better results and more engagement with your audiences is powerful. Working with Mathieu is also an enjoyable experience, especially when your whole team gets involved in one of his workshops. You not only come away with honed skills but also a more collaborative team. My experience with Leading with Nice has ranged from traditional print communications to online writing. From the planning process to execution, I have come away with a better product after all my interactions.

Our Promise

1

All of our work is done in-house. We do not contract out any of our services and everyone who works on your project will have first been hired to work at Leading With Nice — we field-test everyone on our own business before introducing them to yours.

2

Expert StoryBrand consulting. We first began using the StoryBrand framework in the mid-2000s when it was introduced. Since then, we have developed hundreds of marketing and communications assets using StoryBrand and we continue to revisit the training.

3

If you’re not happy with our work, you can opt out at any point. There are three approaches we always take: we don’t nickel and dime — every project has pricing transparency, your satisfaction is the priority and we will leave you and your organization better than when we arrived. If we fail to live up to this promise or if you are unhappy, we will release you from the remainder of the contract.
