Good day and welcome to the leading with nice daily. My name is Mathieu Yuill and this week we’re talking about do you know what your employees really want? It’s such an important question because employees today want more than just a paycheck. You know, there is a time where you know you would get a job, you would clock in, you would clock out, you’d pick up your paycheck 35, 40 years later, you would retire. Maybe having moved up the ladder a little bit and call it a day and retire and you know, cottage vacation, grandkids, stuff like that. Today, it’s not so simple. Recently some data came out and it has some fairly concerning stats and it was around employee satisfaction. And in North America, they found that 40% of people are planning on switching jobs next year. And just that doesn’t mean they will, but it means they’re planning to.

And just that mindset is something that you as a leader or a manager or director in your organization should care about. And 69% of employees are searching for a new position while on the clock with your organization. So they’re at work and they’re on LinkedIn, they’re on Kijiji, they’re on, last ceiling, etc. Etc. Looking for jobs while they should be doing work for your organization. These hardly sound like the people that are crushing goals for your organization. So this week we’re going to look at answering that question, how do we know what our employees want and how do we meet those? That’s all for today.
